In this unit I learned the many simultaneous roles of the teacher, and that there is a strategy and methodology in balancing those roles in a way that makes the students feel motivated and excited. The teacher transforms learning so that it is both structured and intriguing. Good teachers and good learners have a symbiotic relationship, where willingness and openness are crucial to grow and learn together. Age and culture are important factors in the classroom, so awareness and respective adjustment is important depending on the class demographics. Across the range of language abilities, there are different approaches to teaching each level, as each has strengths and weaknesses. Overall I became more in tuned with the very root concepts that all good teachers should be aware of- that in this dynamic and central role the teacher fulfills, one must be creative but structured, and always focus on building and maintaining motivation and interest in learning.

I have learned that successful language learning integrates positive actions and abilities of both teacher and learner. A good teacher possesses adequate language knowledge which she (my prerogative :) ) conveys in a manner she knows will benefit her learners. She possesses enthusiasm, motivation, rapport, empathy, patience and caring, and a keen perspective on her learners regarding factors that affect learning such as students' ages, learning/life experiences, cultural/ethnic backgrounds, and personal insecurities and motivation(s).
The effective teacher needs to sometimes manage and control her class in presenting new material. She must organise herself and her time, know how to organise activities, seating, give instructions, and follow up with appropriate home
work, etc. The effective teacher knows how to assess student progress by providing feedback through evaluation and grading of a selection of exercises and tests. She must encouragingly prompt students to participate witout endangering students' initiative and self-confidence; alternatively, she might provide tutelage when a student is stuck or confused and needs explanation, such as during an independent work period or in group projects.
The teacher might also take a participatory role to launch a group activity or make up for an uneven number of participants, or she might act as a resource in facilitating a class
working on tasks independently. The effective teacher monitors and observes how her efforts are working, her students' progress and their further needs. Finally, the good teacher acts as a model of authority and knowledge, whether by setting standards or teaching pronunciation or expressions.
I have also learned what constitutes each of the six various levels of language proficiency, from beginner to advanced, and how they correspond to the Council of Europe's Common
european Framework.

This lesson provided a basic outline as to what is required of good teachers and good learners. In addition, this unit also provided various roles and examples of different types of teaching styles. The question of when to undertake certain roles is also asked and considered. The necessary qualities and requirements to become a good and effective teacher is considered as well.
The second part of Unit 1, discusses the learners' roles and what makes and effective and good learner in the classroom. Also discussed are the various levels of a learner and how these levels correspond to their language ability/level. The Common
european Framework is an example of such a grading system. Lastly, motivation and what spurns the learner to become motivated and interested in English is also discussed.
I found this lesson to be quite interesting. For the most part, a lot of the information given is rather common sense. However there are a few areas which were quite interesting, especially the various roles of the teacher. Most of the roles listed I was already aware of, but I just had not considered breaking them down into individual roles and listing the description of each role individual. It was nice to see it broken down in an easy to understand layout.

This unit made me think about what makes a good teacher. These qualities include knowing the subject material, knowing how to motivate students, being kind and considerate, having a good rapport with the class, treating everyone fairly and really caring about whether they learn.
A good teacher also needs to think about the best role to play in the classroom for various learning activities. Sometimes the teacher will be the classic manager or controller, talking in front of the class but often s/he will need to prompt students, assess their
work by offering feedback, tutor students one-on-one or even participate in class activities. Sometimes the teacher will stay more behind the scenes, acting as a resource or facilitator when necessary.
It was also interesting to consider the different motivations, behaviors and experiences of students of different ages. Teaching adults will be a very different experience than teaching younger teenagers.
As well as age considerations, the various language levels of the students will make a big difference in teaching approach. With two beginner levels, three intermediate levels and an advanced level, I can see how the material and activities will need to be adapted.

This unit has given me an insight into the qualities that make both good teachers and good learners, as well as the various roles the teacher plays throughout the class. As having had teaching experience
Before, I found myself reflecting on my own qualities and making sure they matched up. I also realized just how my role as a teacher changes from manager, to model, to tutor, assessor, observer etc. so often within one class. I also found myself remembering some students and thinking about how their qualities matched with the qualities of a good learner (willingness to experiment with the language, willingness to participate, ability to accept error correction etc). The section on the differences between
young learners and adult learners has helped me realize that establishing a rapport with a class is entirely dependent upon the students' learning experience, motivation for being there, level of nervousness, behavior, life experience etc. As for the various levels of students, this has reinforced that I as a teacher must continue to adapt my methods and approaches based on the level and age of my students.

Overall, I feel some of the most critical qualities of great teacher include: Having the love to teach and knowing the subject that is being taught. This unit gave an overview of common qualities that good teachers and good learners often have, as well as the opposite. The unit broke down into specific points the literal roles of teachers as Manger's/controllers, organizers, assessors, prompters, participants, tutors, facilitators, models, and monitors. The unit also explained
european standard definitions of language fluency in terms of the A1-C2 scale.
I have learned the different components that make up good teachers and good learners, as well as some negative components that would demonstrate not so good teachers and learners. In regards to common qualities that make up a good teacher, these seem to be a blend of personality traits, such as being kind, approachable, and enthusiastic, as well as having a strong command of the subject knowledge, and being able to effectively communicate the subject knowledge to others in a well organized and encouraging way. Good learners also have certain traits, such as being motivated to learn the language, enough self confidence to ask questions when unsure, and the dedication to practice and study the language.

On reflection, I had never thought about what makes a good teacher, so this is something very important for me. The different age groups on how they respond and learn in class.
The unit has also pointed out when to participate in the class room and when to let the students have a more active role.

From this unit I have learnt that even if the Teacher's roles may seem a bit similar, there still is a difference and individual importance to each one. The roles came to me naturally
Before, but now that I know the significance of each and what they entail, I know when and how to apply each one in certain situations.
Worth of note, I learnt the types of learners, their reasons to study English as a foreign language, the high-points and low-points in dealing with Adult or Younger learners, and--most importantly--that motivation, especially at early stages, is the most important aspect of successful learning.
Of course, needless to say, it has drawn my attention to the qualities that really make a good teacher and what I find myself lacking in, I try to overcome and improve to be better. The same thing goes with learners; it opened my eyes to what I should look for in the students before me, to determine whether I am going to "suffer"" with them or not. Moreover

I learnt the characteristics of a good teacher and the teacher's roles during the lesson. There are 9 roles: Manager, Organizer, Assessor, Prompter, Participant, Tutor, Resource, Model, Observer. Then I learnt the characteristics of a good learner and the ways of dividing learners for different categories. Learners can be divided by age:
young learners and adults. Young learners can be divided to age groups: from 2 to 7 years old, from 8 to 12 years old, from 13 to 18 years old. All this groups have different learning experience, motivation, nervousness, language awareness, behaviour problems and life experience. Learners can be divided by language level: Beginners, Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, Advanced. Begginers have zero knowledge, Elementary can communicate on simple topics using siple sentences, Pre-intermediate can communicate on greater variety of topics but can make mistakes with basics structures, Intermediate can communicate on a wide range of topics but still lacking in accuracy and fluency, Upper Intermediate can communicate on almost all topics but still lacking in accuracy, Advanced have very good knowledge of the English language.

I learned a variety of roles a teacher can assume in order to effectively manage a classroom, as well as the different proficiency levels that can be held by ESL students. I also was able to learn about the characteristics or traits that can make up a good teacher or learner. This should prove effective when I am attempting to decide how best to approach a subject for a particular set of students (learners). Knowledge of the potential motivations for learning may also prove to be essential when dealing with students of different age ranges, skill levels, or emotional maturity. Difficult students are often simply cases of poorly developed motivation. The teacher's role is to incentivize and empower these students to supersede their own expectations.

This chapter gave an effective introduction to the student-instructor relationship as well as qualities that good learners and good teachers possess. From the perspective of a teacher in training, it was interesting to note the pros and cons of a variety of general teaching styles ranging from class management to participation or even quiet observation. It was also noted that the use of these methods should be highly dependent on both the subject matter of the lesson and the proficiency of the learner. Lastly it was helpful to gain knowledge on the obstacles to learning often experienced by students, including age- and culture-related issues and other anxieties that are important to consider when establishing a connection as a teacher.

The unit has helped me to better understand not only the different roles played out by a good teacher but the underlying motivation for a teacher themselves, which must in part stem from a want to see people learn and comprehend a new language, from which such things as patience, ability to motivate learners themselves, building rapport and keeping a class involved in lessons will follow from. Identifying the different roles of teacher, whether it be motivator, assessor, organiser, role model etc to suit each lesson activity and student is important as this will determine how best the students can learn the english language and their overall success depends on the teacher providing the best frame
work and deliver of coursework. Further, understanding the motivation for learners whether it be for work, travel or other reasons as well as distinguishing between the age and experience of learners will directly influence how a lesson is planned and delivered, as well as the success of the lessons.

Different lesson activities dictate the role or different roles that teachers will have to assume in the classroom. Additionally, Unit 1 approaches the qualities that good learners usually share and talks about the learning challenges and behavioral distinctions that learners in different age ranges, language knowledge, and cultures present. Among all the helpful information that I was introduced to in this lesson, it was interesting to learn about the breakdown between different levels of ability in the English language and its equivalent (Common

What characterizes a good teacher is that he or she cares more about the student's learning than his or her own teaching. It is important that a teacher is patient, kind, motivating, has good subject knowledge, is able to incorporate the participation of all students into a lesson, is able to correct student without offending them, and is able to identify the weaknesses of individual students in order to give individual help if needed.
It is important that a teacher can determine the appropriate role which he or she must take at any given time in a lesson. The ability to take the appropriate role at the right time can greatly enhance the teachers effectiveness. These roles include managing or controlling, organizing, assessing, prompting, participating, tutoring, facilitating, modelling the language, and observing the students.
There are some characteristics that seem to be popular among successful language learners. These characteristics include being willing to experiment with the language, ask questions about the language, listen to the language, accept correction, and having an overall desire to learn.
Other contributing factors to language learning that a teacher should keep in mind include the average age of the audience, (adult learners tend to have a longer attention span and be more motivated due to the probability that they had chosen to take the course), culture and first language, (different cultures have different approaches to learning), and language level (the manner with which we communicate to our students largely depends on their language level).

This unit and content prepped me for what to expect in the classroom. I learned about the different levels of the students' comprehension of language and how to be a better teacher by using a variety of teaching methods. It also helped me to understand the different motivations of each level of student as well as the difficulties associated with each
Type. I liked it because it made me visualize myself in different situations and how I would potentially react in the given circumstances. I do not know which level or type of student that I would prefer to teach so it was a good unit for me to grasp a basic understanding of what to expect and where I feel myself being drawn.

It is important that the teacher have a personality that suits teaching (e.g. kind & patient, enjoys teaching, open & lively and knowledgeable) and is focused on the relationship they have with the students. It is the teacher's role to motivate, teach, assess and correct in a respectful manner. Each student is an individual who deserves to be taught in a respectful manner. Teaching adults is different then teaching
children. While adults bring more like experience they tend to be more nervous and more easily embarrassed. Everyone deserves to learn in a way that suits them.

young learners. A good teacher should take into account where their learners are, whether it is a beginner or an advanced learner, to assist in successful management of the class. Teachers should also be considerate of reticence on the part of students due to their life experiences, or lack-there-of, in their willingness to participate in class. If students are shy, it should be the teacher's position to build up student(s)' confidence with scaffolded support.

The content of this unit is about what qualities go towards creating good teachers and students, allowing me to realize those which I possess and those I want to
work on fixing. It has also taught me the different levels of English familiarity my future students may possess and what motivations they might have for getting better. A great introduction. I particularly appreciated the section on the "role of the teacher"". The ""culture and first language"" section confirms my own experience given that I teach Indians A good introductory to the module, with clear views of what makes a good teacher and how he/she would interact with students in different circumstances. Also some good points about the differences between young and adult learners, and how to manage them in a classroom.

In order to be a good teacher, it is important to love teaching and have good subject knowledge in order to motivate learners and keep curriculum interesting. The teacher must be kind and patient in order to encourage the student to continue trying. A good student will be willing to experiment and ask questions when needed. Nine roles are taken on by an instructor in order to be an effective teacher. When doing so, it is important to use each in moderation in order to avoid loss of students' motivation or teacher's control of the classroom. The six levels of a language learner and age of students can be used to determine most effective methods of instruction.

In this unit it is explained fully on how to become a good and dedicated teacher. It also goes on to explain on how you deal with the different age groups, whether it is a learner group of students or an advanced group of students. The section about learning experiences is well documented as well. A student's responsibility is as equally important as the teacher. One will not be successful without the other. The main objective of Unit 1 was to teach about the qualities, roles and responsibilities of both teachers and learners in the classroom.
TEACHERS:
Firstly, teachers need to have certain qualities that make them a good teacher. They must:
1) Be kind and patient (because he/she must have a pleasant, caring and kind personality to attract students towards her)
2) Love teaching (this will help show her passion in her teaching)
3) Be lively and entertaining (his/her lessons must be entertaining and involve intention by all students)
4) Be able to motivate learners (he/she must be able to set an example for her students which in turn motivates them)
The qualities above relate to the teacher?s personality, whereas the following relate to the relationship between the teacher and their students. He/She:
5) Must have good subject knowledge (this benefits all students in the class)
6) Have good rapport and interaction with the class
7) Must involve students equally throughout the lesson without any personal differences.
8) Should be able to involve all students without offending or affecting their motivation levels.
9) Should know students? weaknesses and try to help them where needed
Therefore what makes a good teacher is one who cares about his/her teacher but cares even more about the learning of his/her students.
In recent years, more lessons have become student centred than teacher centred, as an effective teacher is one that balances their lesson where he/she centres some stages of the lesson on the teacher, and other stages on the student.
A typical teacher is like to take the roles of a:
1) Manager:
? must take charge of the class and of the activity
2) Organizer:
? is an important role and involves giving instructions, organizing students into groups/pairs, initiating activities, and organizing feedback.
3) Assessor:
? where the teacher assesses and gives feedback/correction as well as evaluates and grades,
? he/she must be fair and consistent.
4) Prompter:
? the teacher uses strategies to encourage and help students to look for ideas when they are stuck
5) Participant
? Teacher participates and makes sure that he/she does not dominate the activity or focus attention upon him/herself
6) Tutor
? It means that the teacher plays a more personal role
? Often used when students are
working individually or in groups
7) Facilitator
? Teacher uses activities that allow the students to get on with the process of learning a language for themselves.
8) Model
? Teacher has responsibility and authority to be a model in terms of the English grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation they are using.
9) Observer
? Teacher must monitor what is going on the classroom, how

I have learnt the following points after reading the section on ?learners?.
Successful students must have the following characteristers in order to be a good learner:
1) Desire to learn
2) Desire to experiment with the language
3) Willingness to ask questions
4) Ability to think about their own learning process
5) Willingness to listen to the language
6) Acceptance of error correction
Learners can be divided amongst the following age groups:
1) Adults (18+ years) who are motivated, independent individuals
2) Early teen age learners (13-18 years) who are unmotivated, self conscious, and unwilling to take risks with the language
3) Pre-puberty learner (8-12 years) who are more receptive to new sounds, words and grammar
4) Pre-schoolers (7years or less) have short attention spans, and have not even mastered the grammar of their mother tongue.
I learnt that the major differences between young and adult learners are in terms of:
1. Learning experience: adults have a long history of learning experience and have a fixed view of how teaching show be carried out, they also have their own perceptions of their history of success and failure, as compared to
young learners who do not have a fixed view and are more likely to have an open minded approach to new learning methods.
2. Motivation levels: adults make their own decisions to attend classes whereas young learners do not make decision for themselves and maybe lacking in motivation
3. Life experiences: adults bring more life experience in the classroom as compared to young learners, and can build a rapport and have interesting discussions.
4. Behavioural problems: adults have greater attention spans as compared to young learners and have fewer behavioural/disciplinary issues.
5. Nervousness: adults are generally more nervous about a new learning experience and anxiety about success/failure.
6. Language awareness: young learners will learn the language from context and usage whereas adult learners will match the new language with their native language and this can create problems.
Moreover, I learnt that culture and first language play a key role in determining learners. Different cultures have different approaches towards learning and a good teacher must be aware of their students? customs/differences that would affect the success of their classes.
I also learnt that there are varying language levels of ability in English language in terms of the knowledge, communication, fluency, depth and accuracy and these are classified as follows:
1. Beginners
2. Elementary
3. Low/pre-intermediate
4. Intermediate
5. Upper intermediate
6. Advanced
The Common
european Framework has stated the following 6 levels in terms of basic user, independent user and proficient users:
? Basic User: Breakthrough A1 and Waystage A2
? Independent User: Threshold B1 and Vantage B2
? Proficient User: Effective Operational Proficiency C1 and Mastery C2
And lastly, I learnt about the motivational levels for studying English language. Some of the most common reasons why a learner would attend English classes are:
1. To learn a language that is universally spoken and recognized
2. For travel purposes
3. For future career prospects
4. To improve grades at school or achieve success in exams
5. To study or live in an English speaking country
6. To communicate with colleagues/friends/partners
7. Out of an interest in languages.",

This first unit has provided me with information about the importance of the skills of a good teacher and also about the connection that should be established between the teacher and his/her students. The different types of teaching methods were very interesting to me. I have been trained in many of the methods already so I have some previous knowledge, but there was a very long list of different styles and some of them were new to me. Usually I would group some of those roles together during a lesson and use a combined approach instead of breaking it into many pieces. I believe now I will think about these individual roles of teaching more.

Upon reflection of this unit, I believe I now have an understanding of how a teacher can teach a class effectively. To be a good teacher, you must enjoy teaching, be patient and have a good understanding of what you are teaching. Having a good rapport with your students by being sensitive towards them and giving them a lot of encouragement to want to continue to learn. Knowing the different roles you must perform as a teacher and knowing when to switch roles to enable the students to learn most effectively. This might mean to observe them, rather than speak and then provide feedback or correction at the appropriate time or knowing when to finish an activity and take control again or just providing them with the assistance when they require it. I think it's always important to be a good model and set an example with your speech, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation at all times. Being a good teacher is also having a good knowledge of your students and how to teach them according to their age or cultural background. If you can have a good rapport with the class then hopefully they will all become good learners and therefore you will get the most out of them in a successful class.

This unit was about teachers and learners and was an overview about what makes a 'good teacher', what makes a 'good student' and also what are the different levels of English language learning.
I realized by reading this material that:
1. a 'good teacher' is someone that worries more if his or her students are learning and if they are not learning, he/she will find new ways to teach them.
2. a teacher has several roles when he/she is in a class, depending on what
Type of activities he/she planned.
3. a 'good student' is someone that is interested in learning, that is capable of assessing what he/she learned and he/she is not afraid of making errors and learning from those errors.
4. young students are very different from adult students.
Adult students, those who have more than 18 years old, are highly motivated because they decided to enroll in English classes, they have a big attention span, they have a lot of life experience that they can bring to class, but also they are more afraid of making mistakes and already have an idea how they want to learn and by so are not so open-minded of new ways of learning.
Young students, students from two to eighteen years old, are open-minded to new ways of learning, can learn a new language almost like they learn their mother tongue, by context and usage. Younger students are not so motivated like adult students, because their parents decided for them to be in the class, they have a small attention span and they have behavior problems.
5. There are different levels of language learning: beginner level, elementary level, pre-intermediate level, intermediate level, upper-intermediate level and advanced level.
A beginner is someone that does not have any or very, very basic knowledge of the language.
An elementary student comprehends basic sentence structure.
A pre-intermediate understands some sentence structure and a little bit of vocabulary.
An intermediate student comprehends sentence structure and more vocabulary, but lacks accuracy.
An upper-intermediate has a good knowledge of the language, but lacks fluency.
An advanced student has a very good knowledge of the language and fluency.
In conclusion, now I know what is considered a 'good teacher' and a 'good student' and what are different levels of language learning and now I know that in order for me to be a 'good teacher' I have to pay attention how my students are learning and I should teach them taking into account their language level and their age, that I should respect their culture and I should give them support and motivate them to learn as well I should know about the subject that I am teaching them and I will apply in my future classes what I learned in this unit.

This unit was divided principally concerned teachers and learners.
I learnt that a teacher can have nine particular roles in the classroom, depending on the activity and student group he/she is
working with.
These main roles are: manager, organiser, prompter, participant, tutor, facilitator, model and monitor. The particular role that the teacher decides to adopt in a particular moment is dependent on the
Type of activity that is being carried out.
The teacher should alternate between these in order to vary the activities and teacher style. In this way students will remain more interested, focused and motivated. Motivated students are much more likely to be more successful in their learning.
This unit also looked at learners, the different levels that can be used to classify them, what in fact makes a good learner, and also what factors influence and motivate them.
Learners can either be grouped into the
european levels of A1, A2, B1, B3, C1, and C2, or can be grouped into more generally categories usually defined as beginner, elementary, intermediate, upper-intermediate and advanced.
In general the factors that make a good/successful learner are:
- a student that is willing to listen to the language;
- a desire to take risks and experiment with the vocab and grammar they are slowly absorbing;
- a readiness to ask questions and be inquisitive;
- an acceptance of error correction and the ability to turn it into positive criticism to be able to learn from it;
- the ability to evaluate their own learning processes and methods of learning;
- the sheer desire and motivation to want to learn.
Factor that may affect a student in the learning process were also discussed. Factors such as culture and native language, motivation, nervousness, behaviour problems and previous language-learning experience are all influential in a student's learning of a language.
The last main point of this unit covered concerned students' motivation for learning English. The most common reasons for learning English were found to be related to the following:
- for future career prospects;
- to be able to travel;
- to improve school or University grades;
- to be able to communicate with friends, family, colleagues or a partner;
- to be able to live abroad to work or study;
- to be able to understand English literature, TV series, films or songs;
- a genuine interest in learning languages.",

I have learned that there are number of roles that a teacher can assume and each have their own time and place. A good teacher should be able to utilize these different roles, such as: Organizer, Assessor, Prompter, and Manager seamlessly into their lesson plans and during their time in the classroom. Even with a firm grasp of the different roles that one must assume, a good teacher should understand their subject material, enjoy teaching, and be patient and able to motivate students even if they do not fall into the category of a ?good? learner. As a second language teacher, one should be aware of both age and cultural differences of their learners. Teaching adults is generally a very different experience as compared to younger learners. As people age, we tend to become more self-conscious and concerned with saving face, whereas younger learners have shorter attention spans. A ?good? teacher should be flexible in adapting their lessons to be appropriate for their audience in order to increase their effectiveness. Teaching should be done for the sake of the learner, in order to increase their aptitude and their motivation to continue learning.

This unit is a good introduction to the basics of teaching and learning. As a currently qualified teacher it provides a good framework to translate my skills in classroom teaching to teaching non native English speakers. It highlights some of the challenges faced by

I am currently
working as an ALT in
japan, but having received no formal education about methods of teaching, I found this section to be very interesting. As I read through the different roles a teacher can play in the classroom, I realized I have, at one point or another, played many of them in classroom situations with my own students but hadn't really been aware of the exact distinctions. Going forward, I will make an effort to think more deliberately about which role will be best for a certain class based on the subject matter and activities planned for that day. Being aware of the qualities of good teachers and learners as well as the characteristics that make up the different levels of language learners, will certainly enable me to better understand my students and, as a result, hopefully teach in a way that allows students to get more out of the classes.

working as a teacher turned out to be a big field that produces language and knowledge all around the world I learned that I need lots of qualities and the role for being a teacher. Teacher has to be fair, have knowledge of their subject and motivate students. Teacher is manager, organizer, assessor, prompter, participant, tutor, facilitator, model and monitor. A good learner is followed by a good teacher so the teacher's role is very important. Teachers cannot be always perpect as it is a human but always try to be enthusiastin, motivating and encouraging learners to bring them successful students in the class to learn English.

I have learned that to be a good teacher you must know the subject you wish to teach and be able to find ways of presenting that information that will keep even the most reluctant student interested in what you have to say. If you are kind and patient a student would be more wiling to ask questions, but you must also be able to manage the class to keep everything from getting crazy. A teacher must be organized to keep both themselves and the students in line. Finally you must love what you are doing as both the teacher and the student if you do not you will not be able to present the information and if a student does not have an interest in learning they will not be able to retain what you are trying to teach them.

It was helpful to see all of the different roles a teacher can play within a lesson. As a teaching assistant, I can reflect on the roles I have played within my own classes and how I can switch it up in the future. This section did a good
job of clearly defining the different language levels. This will help when trying to develop activities and lessons, to ensure they are appropriate to the students ability level.

In unit 1 I learnt what have to be the main roles and activities of the good teacher, and the good learner at the other side. As well as to succeed to keep the motivation and concentration of the students and at the same time the teacher have to stimulate them to practice as much as they can. Other topics mentioned were the differences of how age and culture of the student affect the learning and a brief discussion of levels of English proficiency was listed to categorize your students in a standardized method for lesson planning and understanding your student's expected performance levels.
I teach at an intermediate school in Hawaii. For me, this was good to reflect on teaching skills that I have mastered and to focus on ways to improve on areas of challenges. During the section on what make a good student I focused on students that I currently
work with to analyses areas to support improvement. I personally have seen various cultural approaches to learning and cultural differences in teaching in our educational system. This unit has given me a clearer perspective of the qualities, roles and responsibilities of both teachers and students in the classroom. I believe that being a teacher is not just teaching the academic subjects but to set a good example and be an inspiration to students. Teachers are not books, we are living-beings, we communicate, interact and build rapport with our learners but we must also know our limitations and boundaries. I have heard learners who commented that their teachers were bad. However it was usually not because the teachers lacked knowledge of the subjects but the values of the teachers. Teaching comes with experience, and experience comes from a willing to learn. In conclusion, a good teacher must first be a good learner, in fact a good teacher must always be a good learner. After all, life is a journey of learning and imparting knowledge.

I learned many things in this chapter. One of the things I learned was there are many different styles of teaching like a model, manager, or assessor. These styles can affect your students relationship with you. A teacher should combine these styles of learning to encourage the students to learn and have fun. One thing I found interesting was that different ages can affect the way a student learns and achieves their goals in learning English as a second language.

In order to become a successful teacher, it is important to focus on your many roles as a teacher, as well as the many motivations, levels, and experiences of your students. Neither the world, nor the classroom is black and white. The ways in which you interact with your class and the techniques used to present, digest, and access curriculum will vary greatly depending upon each lesson's content and difficulty, each student's age, interest, cultural background, experience with English, and ability with navigating the language, among many other variables. At times you will act as the manager or 'controller' of the room, leading the class completely. At other times, you will act more as a facilitator or prompter, leading the class in the right direction (instead of walking them through the entire lesson). There are countless other roles you will take on while teaching, and it is important to not only be able to transition into these different roles, but also to have the knowledge to know when a transition needs to be made as well as which role

tesol, something which I found very interesting. Might I add one aspect that makes a good teacher which, though it might be implied, should be explicit in this unit. That is, a good teacher is well prepared for each lesson.

The varieties of teaching methodologies were very interesting. It made me evaluate which kind of teach I would like to become. I think I would like to become a facilitator, because I think I can come up with multiple conversational scenarios that my students would enjoy. I felt that this unit provided great insight on what it takes to be a good teacher as well as a good learner. There are many qualities that a teacher must possess in order to successfully teach a student. Although the teacher is there to facilitate and teach the class, they are also there to allow students to make mistakes and ask questions so that the student can understand the reasoning of the lesson. Also knowing and respecting the difference between your students and the levels that they are at. One important aspect in the lesson was motivation. It can be simple to talk with a student and try to get them to understand a lesson, but the key is to keep them motivated so that they are comfortable with making mistakes and asking questions and that they keep coming back with a passion to learn. I also learned that there are a variety of ages and levels that want to learn how to speak English and that you must take different approaches with them. You have to be patient and understanding as a teacher and create a comfortable learning personality and environment. Overall I felt the lesson helped portray what a good teacher and a good student is and how to interact to have a positive relationship with them.

Unit 1 has been a great introduction to the different roles a teacher must play in the classroom, making it clear that a good teacher must have the ability to "wear different hats"" for different situations. Actually In this unit I learned that to become a good teacher I must know my students very well (i.e. Understanding the different factors that affects and motivates student?s learning.) and I must have the capacity to shift into different roles (i.e. being a prompter, facilitator, and etc.)as the class situation requires. Summary of a relationship between student and teacher. Particularly important is the roles the teacher plays in all levels of students. Also, having a deep background knowledge of the student(s) is also key in the relationship factor.

I have enjoyed the course thus far. I feel the course is very practical. The test is very fair, however questions 15-19 are very objective. Question 17, I don't know all the cultures, that was a very open ended question! Education and the the English language are not cut and dried. If I can think like the person who prepared this test then I will get it correct. I do like the open ended reflection essay question.
I am anxious to move to the next unit.

In the content i have studied, I found the most important theme being that, good teachers yield good students. Along with good subject knowledge. The most successful teacher will be able to adapt their teaching methods and procedures according to the cultural differences and customs of their individual students. Whilst showing compassion and tact in the correcting and motivation of the students for them to improve and succeed. In conclusion, a teacher's success should be measured in the accomplishments of his/her students.

This unit 1 provided insight into what makes a good language teacher, well particularly english. This though, can be taken across the board and implemented throughout teaching everywhere as it touches on the skills and personality traits most beneficial to the learners. It also highlights the learners traits and what makes them a good learner. There are differences between adults and
young learners which can change the nature and the activities implemented in the classroom. Yet, with this discovery, whether it be difference in language awareness, life experience or culture, it is valuable to help understand how to teach these particular students.I have learned not just about teaching english but also being able to receptively learn other languages who may employ similar techniques.

This unit is useful for me as it clearly explains the many roles of a teacher. It made me reflect on what I have done as a teacher and encourage me to do better. In this unit I was able to see that the main focus should be on the learners and meeting their needs. I realized that the teacher has many roles that are very important from keeping the students motivated and confident, to being a good model and facilitator. Since the teacher is the only real example of the target language, it is important that the teacher plays all the correct roles at the right time. The most important characteristic of a teacher is to be caring. If the teacher cares about each individual student, they are more likely to meet each student where they are at and help them achieve their individual goals.

Before starting the lesson , I felt nervous that I may not be able to absorb all the topics under this unit. However,by thorough reading and carefully understanding the topics , I realized I have lots of things to improve in my current
job, in terms of being a good teacher and understanding the learners. The qualities of a good teachers that has been enumerated and defined has enlightened me to do better and in fact boost my confidence that I can do it. As for me, the single and most important quality of a good teacher should possess is love. I believe if a teacher has this quality, everything follows. Teachers who don't have love & passion on what they are doing cannot possibly be effective for the entire day.
On the learners side, the topic about the levels of learning is a big help, especially, in identifying students' needs in terms of their knowledge,experiences and behavior towards the entire studies. If teachers understood the students language level well , then teachers would have no difficulties in responding on their need.

This unit was a basic overview of what it takes to be a successful teacher and what to expect from the students. I found the section dedicated to the roles of the teacher very helpful from this unit. In addition the roles that a teacher plays in the classroom were discussed. Levels of language, their names and characteristics were introduced as well as different age groups of students from 2 years through adulthood. The variables of motivations, experiences (language and life) and behaviors of students were considered relative to their ages.
I was glad to have chosen the course 'with' tutor availability and
videos. My learning was already enhanced in this unit by the videos. The tables used for levels of language and the different ages of students, I found very helpful. Listening to and watching a human being also makes the process feel more real to me!

I learned from this unit that both learning and teaching a foreign language can be challenging for learners and teachers. I believe that we should motivate all our students regardless their ages or level of English. For this reason, it is critical for us, teachers, to develop a good relationship with students. As teachers, we should be able to manage, organize and observe our students to ensure they have a satisfactory learning experience. Sometimes we may take the role of students and participate in activities with them. In addition, we should be our students?models, assessors, facilitators, tutors and prompters who are always giving them feedback on their progress. In my opinion, we can have good students if we are, in fact, good teachers.

This unit goes over what is means to be a good teacher, and shows the qualities of a good student in contrast. Teacher roles are described, and how the various roles must be used in accordance to the students and classroom activities. The difference in student ages and language ability is shown, and depending on the age and ability, the students will have a much different learning experience from one another. Student motivation is also important to the unit, as a good teacher will be able to encourage the student into their motivated reasons for learning the language in the first place.
I felt this unit was an enhancement upon basic common knowledge on what makes a good teacher and goes into much finer detail than I had realized was required. I found what I learned most were the various roles a teacher will have in the classroom.

This introduced teaching english as a foreign language. It gave me some new terminology to use when describing the english levwl that students have and inteoduced the
european method of categorization. Mostly it was a brief introduction to teaching english as a foreign language. I have learnt what it takes to be a good teacher and what turns a good teacher class into a successful English class.
I have also learnt that a teacher should be fair,motivational and above all have the knowledge of what she/he is teaching I learned about the basic functions of teachers and learners. I realized that being a teacher is very difficult, because he has to balance many different functions and roles in the class room. This unit covered the qualities and characteristics of both a good teacher and a good learner, as well as the various roles that a teacher will perform in a classroom situation. It looked at the differences in approach and motivation that one might experience when dealing with adult as opposed to younger learners. The unit also covered the different motivations people may have for learning English. Finally, it dealt with the different levels and classifications of English ability.
This unit was useful for me because I learned more about the proper classification of English language ability into elementary, intermediate, etc and what each classification entails. Prior to studying this, I did not know about the
european Common Framework for language ability, so that is something else that I have learnt.

This section provided a helpful overview of the characteristics of a good teacher, the role of the teacher, types of students, student motivation and commonly used terms describing student levels. The role of culture, motivation, previous learning experience and life experience in the second language learning process seems to have been emphasised and was helpful.
This section helped me to identify that I want to allocate much more time in the classroom to the role of resource/facilitator.

I found the unit very interesting because I have never really thought about some of the roles a good teacher is expected to have. Secondly, the section that deals with the impact a student's cultural background could have on the student's learning is very insightful and new to me. I think, I have learned a lot about how a teacher can get the best out of the students particularly concerning how to effectively manage a classroom setting.

I learned about the roles played by a teacher in the class and some of the issues a teacher needs to deal with in classroom management and how he needs to switch roles as needed to keep the class moving smoothly, in control and in an interesting and motivating way.
In essence I learned about the importance of a caring, enthusiastic, motivating teacher who will perform well in an ESL class setting.

Unit 2 covers the different parts of speech. It explains the different classifications of words within a sentence, and how they are used and changed based on tense. It gives examples of rules to use, and also gives examples to these rules. There is no set standard for many words, you must go with what feels most natural. This unit describe in detail different parts of speech. It helped me to structure the theory and also to revise the order in which parts of speech appear in the sentence. Some rules given for adjectives order or about articles usage are very helpful and now I would be able to explain them much easier to the students. I have learned more specifically about the whole concept regarding parts of speech. I have learned to memorize how to form english sentences without thinking. However, this lesson reinforced me on how and why certain words can or cannot be used in certain situations. I feel like I am back in Elementary school again!

This unit created a foundation for the fundamental components of speech. The individual parts of speech are nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, and prepositions/conjugations. In the unit, each part was subdivided into different categories, such as transitive and intransitive verbs. Furthermore, rules for each subdivision, like how to form superlatives, and cases in which these rules do not apply, like when words with three syllables are preceded with the word 'more', were given. While I learned these components of speech in English class many years ago, I found it to be a great refresher. I also liked that while rules were given on how to form various parts of speech, the exceptions to the rules were also given. These are what I am making sure to take note of because they will be very important to teach in my classroom.

This unit helped review my english grammar knowledge. I reviewed nouns, verbs,adjectives, adverbs and prepositions.
It is not always easy to teach grammar, so one must make sure they are confident in their knowledge of this unit.
There are many rules to memorize, but on top of that there are also many exceptions to the rules- which doesn't make it any easier.
Practice and review is the best way to fully learn this unit for a foreign speaker.

I learned more about transitive and intransitive verbs than I knew
Before. These parts of speech I never paid to much mind to. Also the gerund was not something I was really aware of. It was a good refresher course to study about comparative adjectives. The subject and breakdown of base form, past simple, past participle, and present participle are always good to brush up on. I enjoyed this section.

Unit 2 Overview
Introduction to Grammar ? Parts of Speech
In this unit the main focus is focusing on recognizing and clarifying part of speech.
Simple example was given of a sentence that consists of a number of words and how it can be classified.
In a broad stoke there are 8 parts to it:
1.Nouns
2.Adjectives
3.Articles
4.Verbs
5.Adverbs
6.Gerunds
7.Pronouns
8.Prepositions/Conjunctions
And from these 8 parts it goes into a detail explanation of the usage of each part.
1.Nouns
It can be broken into 5 other small parts
a. Usage
b. Main types
c. Plurals
d. Countable Nouns
e. Uncountable Nouns
2. Adjectives
As for adjectives simply it is use to describes nouns such as people and things.
To zoom into its detail usage there can be many more rules to the different types of adjectives, and a few irregulars to the comparative and superlative forms.

working?.
3. Articles
There are 2 types of articles
a. Definite (the)
b. Indefinite (a & an)
The use of these articles mainly depends on whether you are referring to any member of a group or to a specific member of a group.
Although like the others there are rules to its usage and the ?Do? and ?Don?t?. There are also a number of common countable nouns that are often treated as uncountable and used without an article, taking a preposition instead.
*So, it can makes it complicated and challenging at times.
4. Verbs
Many of us learn at school that verb is a?doing? word.
However, ?doing? doesn?t really cover everything.
All verbs are either Transitive or Intransitive.
a. Transitive verb is a verb that is followed directly by an object.
b. Intransitive verb is a verb that can?t be followed directly by an object.
It does not do anything to anyone or anything.
It simply ?does? an action or stands alone.
*Infinitives
At the same time all verbs has base form, and that is refer to as an infinitive of a verb.
This refers to the actions of a whole and is formed by preceding the base form with ?to?.
*Verbs have 4 principal forms, and they are called ?Verb Forms?
1. Base form
2. Past simple
3. Past participle
4. Present participle
*But do bear in mind that some verbs does has irregular forms, and unfortunately most common verbs are irregulars, and has no rules as to their formations.
*Auxiliary Verbs
Auxiliary verbs help from a tense or an expression by combining with present or past participles or infinitives of other verbs.
It is not the verb that carries the main meaning; it simply helps form a structure.
There only 3 auxiliary verb: do, have, and be
5. Adverbs
In generals adverbs add meaning or information to the action, quality or state denoted by a verb, hence the
Name.

8. Prepositions/Conjunctions
Prepositions - show the relationship between a noun or a pronoun and some other word in the sentence.
It can be one of the most difficult grammatical points for both teachers and students.

Conjunction ? join words or groups in a sentence

This unit had a lot of information to digest. I forgot how difficult the tenses, meanings and usage of words were until I read this portion. It will be one of the most important aspects to pass o to the students when teaching them the English language. Grammar has always been one of my strongest areas. I take great pleasure in the notion that I will be equipping students with the tools needed to properly use the English language, especially considering how besieged proper grammar has been by the advent of modern communication technology. This unit covered the parts of speech, though I agree with the concern over the difficulty of prepositions. They remain one of the most confounding elements of English, and I will put special effort in to helping students understand their
application in everyday use.

The content in Unit 2 went over parts of speech in grammer. It covered the variations of nouns, adjectives and verbs. The things that I learnt are all things that I say and use everyday without thinking about it although when it gets broken down and giving names such as preposition it starts to sound very complicated. I feel I have a much greater understanding of parts of speech.

In this unit we focused on sentence structure and breakdown. We identified each part of a sentence in order to understand what they mean and how they operate within the sentence. In our reading we identified and defined the following: nouns(uncountable, countable, and the main types of nouns), adjectives (comparatives and superlatives), articles (indefinite and definite), verbs (transitive and intransitive), adverbs, gerunds, pronouns (personal, possessive, reflexive and relative), prepositions, and conjunctions. We were able to
work through sentences to understand fully what each word means and which part of speech it fit into. Since my first language is English, I take most of this for granted. I was surprised to learn as much as I did during this unit.

This is something that was lost in the many years since my English education. The level of detail of this chapter is an indication that I will continue to (re)learn the many details of my mother tongue. I'm very excited! i have learned the different meanings of grammer and how to use them correctly.the diffrences between nouns and which ones are used,common,proper,compound,abstract,collective,.different sort of adjectives and verbs,how to put them in to sentences, to make them sound right.i found this a very helpful exercise. This unit mostly discussed the basic parts of speech for when you teach ESL to students. I was basically reintroduced to all the terminology that is related to english and teaching english which is very beneficial. This unit was very-very interesting for me! I like "to dig"" into the parts of speech because in my imagination they are like parts of Lego. More colorful pieces I have in my hands -- more creative designs I can build. Unit 2 basically went over all of the main key components that form a sentence. (i.e. Nouns, Pronouns, Conjunctions, Adjectives, Adverbs, Prepositions, etc.). I learned a lot from this unit, as there were many parts of English grammar that I was not able to explain and/or fully describe. It was very informative and also very well put together in a way in which I could easily follow along and soak up all of the content from each section. Grammar can be very complex with the English language and it honestly scares me a little, but this unit showed me a lot and really helped me to understand how these components
work in a sentence and what their main purpose(s) actually are.

Before Unit 2 discusses parts of speech, that is: nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, prepositions and conjunctions. Their characteristics and functions in the sentence are presented. Personally, I find the brief but very accurate descriptions of each part of speech very useful even in a classroom environment as sometimes you just want to quickly remind students the basic information.

In this unit I learnt about basic grammatical structures that can be utilised in a basic sentence. This included ideas for teaching difficult areas (such as adverb game). Groundwork learning for more complicated grammatical structures to be reviewed at a later point during the
tefl course. Or particular interest was the placing of words within a sentence, and the realisation that while there are some rules, English as a language lacks consistency which is why it can be difficult for foreign learners to grasp without conversational practice.

Although I'm generally familiar with most parts of speech in the English language, this chapter gave a wonderfully in-depth analysis into the finer points of grammar. It has greatly increased my confidence in identifying parts of a complex sentence and distinguishing between sub-types (transitive vs. intransitive verbs, definite vs. indefinite articles, etc.), and will in turn most definitely increase my confidence as an ESL teacher. Also, as a student of the
korean language, I found this chapter quite helpful for identifying differences between English and Korean and I'm sure the knowledge will serve me well in the learning process.

Unit 2 helped future English teachers understand the different parts of speech. Structures such as nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, and many others were thoroughly explained in this unit. This unit was certainly very helpful for me. Many of these structures I already knew by heart, so it was great to review them again. However, I have acquired some new information. I did not know the rules for placing multiple adverbs in a sentence. Also, the explanation on how to order multiple adjectives in a sentence was new for me.

I've been to school and was never actually able to understand parts of a sentence until now. It makes it easier to write when you understand parts of speech and easier to teach. Grammar is not my strongest ability and reading this chapter made a lot of sense and taught me where I was lacking the ability to make sentences more precise and proper.

I have never had to study English grammar previously and this unit has made me realise exactly how hard it must be, to try and understand English as a non-native speaker. To be able to identify each part of speech is not as easy as I believed. The regular rules are quite straight forward and can be explained, but the irregularities are numerous, and would take considerable thought to be able to explain them. I have realised that grasping English for a grammar point of view is not so easy if it is not you first language.
I have learnt the relationship between words, and the correct order in which they appear in a sentence. I have learned many more parts of speech that I wasn't even aware of prior to studying this chapter. Sentences are definitely much more complex that simply 'subject, word, object.'

It always helps to go through some grammar, no matter if you know/knew it already or not. This unit made me more aware again about the way I talk in day to day life. Though, English is not my first language and these things, covered in this unit, are the bare basics, which I learned already at school. I will use this unit as a resource for my classes. This Unit has been very helpful to me by linking the
Names of stuff that I automatically took for granted since I was raised with the English language. Such as Gerund, I knew how to properly use them but never knew the word for them. Another one that I knew how it worked but didn't know the name of it was superlative adjective. All in all this was a great refresher to me.

It helps me gain an understanding on just how challenging it must be for non- native English speakers. English is a highly complex language with many rules, even native speakers have little conscious knowledge of. I know have a wider knowledge of grammar, in school we had just learnt the basics, in this unit I have learnt how to recognize and classify parts of speech. I now understand how to construct a proper sentence. this unit has helped identify when a sentence is incorrect. In this unit what we have learned the most, was what the different parts of the speech are and how to use them properly, especially for those who are unaware of how to use them and why. I learned a significant amount of Grammar that I had completely forgot, or never learned at all. I learned the basics such as the Simplest form of structure is a basic sentence and that all sentences must contain a subject and verb. I had never learned that there were different types of nouns such as Countable and uncountable. I now know that countable nouns can be preceded by the articles a, an, and the and can be used in the plural form. I had previously heard the terms Comparative and Superlative adjectives, however, I did not know what they were or how they are formed. I also learned that usually when there is a rule that applies, there are also exceptions. An example is the word sheep. Some words do not have a "rule"" that applies. For example

As a native English speaker, I had no idea how difficult the structure of the English language could be, and with so many exceptions to the rules.

This unit covers parts of speech and grammar. It provides examples of basic and complex sentence structure. It gives an overview of all aspects of English grammar and give examples of the types of words used to make up sentences. It covers the simplest form of structure and then shows you the most advanced form. I furthered my technical understanding of sentence composition. The above test was very concise and a great exercise of the information. The definitions and examples in the text are great and it helped refresh and further perfect my understanding of basic English grammar. The section on adverbs was particularly interesting and useful with its definitions. I found this unit really helpful. I was able to refresh on the intricacies of the English grammar. The unit helped me rediscover the rules of basic grammar. This will enable me to help my students understand the English grammar more proficiently. The extra tutorial was a great aid in providing more clarity.

I am able to
Name all parts of speech. Among others I have learnt different rules regarding using definitive article, indefinite article and zero article. I can also easily distinguish transitive and intransitive verbs, as well as different verb forms. I can explain the difference between adjective and adverb and list main types of adverbs. Unit introduces basic parts of speech and texplains, with examples, when and how they are used. I did not learn anything but the basics at school and so found the unit both interesting and very challenging. In particular gerunds, definite vs indefinite articles and he rules that explain how some of the parts of speech are related were particularly interesting.

This second unit has provided a general and basic overview of the parts of the speech. I think it could be a great basis to start giving grammar classes to A1 students but I would need to elaborate on the content as English levels of my students rise up, something completely normal. This unit topic allowed me to understand the basic and fundamental elements that make up effective teaching of any kind. I had previously done a course similar to this at university and this course has allowed me to remember teaching experiences where I could have improved using this information. This unit gave an initial introduction into the complexity of grammar! I found it really interesting to consolidate my knowledge of many of the terms and then build on these with more complex ideas. Grammar is something that comes so naturally to a native speaker of a language that it is difficult sometimes to understand why we phrase things they way we do. This unit helped me to take a step back and focus on the reasoning behind our sentence structure.

I believe that the majority of Western educated people have an instinctive grasp of English grammar. I learned in my first year of teach ESL that knowing: "what it is"" and knowing: ""why it is"" are too completely different things." Basic English grammar that I have been taught since grade school. I never really remembered what everything was called though, so that will definitely help when I can explain something as a superlative adjective specifically and not "a comparison adjective.""

I thought this content was a good review of grammar for native English speakers as we don't get much opportunity to review. Usually, we know it from primary school, but we rarely have to explain it. I do think though that teaching the grammar terms to younger students like beginners or elementary students in a foreign language context, may be overwhelming.

This unit deals with the essential components of English grammar - 'the parts of speech' upon which the whole system of language use is based. Starting with nouns, the units goes on to describe the other parts of speech namely the adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, prepositions and, conjunctions. It takes up each part of the speech separately and describes it in a very precise manner. While discussing the various types of each part of speech and elaborating upon the ways of their formation along with the most appropriate situations of their usage, it also demonstrates their proper placement besides the other parts of speech. Again, in a very precise manner it describes the intricacies involved thereby drawing a very clear picture of these concepts. Furthermore, it provides useful tips for the teachers which can be utilized effectively while teaching such topics to the learners. Not only this, while highlighting the irregularities in the patterns of usage of certain parts of speech, it even cautions the teacher about the numerous difficulties which a young learner of English might face which may eventually lead to confusions and errors committed by him. i learned through this module that i need to learn more about english grammar in order to be an effective teacher. i also relearned as it were a very useful understanding of my own languages's grammar conventions and how they are reflected into our everyday method of speaking. this knowledge will help me build a framework of knowledge upon which i can build a curriculum and instruct my future students in the ways of using english grammar properly.

This unit was a basic overview of grammar. It reminded me of just how complicated grammar may be to ESL students. For a native speaker it is hard enough. I thought that the unit described things in an easy to understand format that will even be beneficial should I have to use it with students. The thing that I learned most is simply that I need to personally review the grammar points myself from time to time to stay sharp. It is easy as a native speaker to forget about these important details.

I have got brief clear information concerning each part of speech. All the main
features that has been covered in the unit can be easily used during the class, but of course with additional addoptation according to the students' level. Moreover the information about word order in a centance gives the full structure.

My understanding of this unit is that English is an incredibly complex language. While there are definitely rules to follow, there are many more exceptions and irregularities. While I do believe proper use of grammar is important, the challenge is actually getting the student to understand how to get to that point. I honestly don't believe feeding them the grammar rules will be effective and this really believe that this will be more of a conversational exercise than anything else.
