Teach English in Zunyi Shi

I learned in this unit that there are four basic skills that can be taught

Unit Two presented the various roles a teacher may be expected to take on, different teaching methodologies, and the ESA lesson structure

Interestingly, we never learned our tenses in school, except in French

In this unit I learned 7 different Future Tenses

This unit gave me an introduction, as if I didn't know any previous knowledge, which will help me teach my students who might not have any prior knowledge and help me solidify my prior knowledge)

This unit deals with some criteria to be followed when teaching Vocabulary, Introducing grammatical structures and Teaching Language functions

In this unit we can compare and contrast to classes given by the same teacher

This unit talks about coursebooks and lesson materials

This unit covered if/when sentences which refer to past, present, and future possibilities and are known as conditionals

In Unit 7 I have learned when teaching new language the difficulty or ease of learning is dependent on the similarity to the student's own language, similarity to English words already known, spelling and pronunciation, and appropriacy

Writing a lesson plan can be helpful in planning what you are going to teach on

The future tense is perhaps the most difficult for students to learn/master as it has 7 forms which can easily be confused between each other: Future simple - shall/will + verb

In this unit, we have identified some of most common teaching methodologies and their advantages and disadvantages in addition to the use of these methodologies according to students need

There are no special way in which a lesson plan should be written

This unit focuses on the two important language skills--reading and listening

In this unit, I learned that when a new language is taught, the teacher needs to make sure the students need to understand its meaning, understand how it's constructed, and be able to practise and produce it

In this unit many different contrasts are shown between both videos

This short module looks at the difficulties facing the teacher when teaching different types of classes, such as: First lessons - focus should be on building rapport with the students Warmers - these are small active exercises to to engage students into the lesson Different levels - many classes have different levels of students Large classes - large classes can present a difficulty in class management Native language - students may be tempted to use their native language in some situations Reluctant students - some students may not wish to embarrass themselves in front of others and therefore may remain reluctant Difficulties with listening texts - a problem when learning any language, listening texts need to be taught but fluent language and bad audio can present problems for students

The 2nd video class demonstrates a classic ESA lesson

This unit reflected on several different teaching aids that teachers could use during their lesson

Unit 9 was all about the importance of planning lessons

This unit covered the important distinctions between the different forms of future tense, while describing how they are different than the present simple/continuous tenses

This unit offered ways to prepare lessons that focus on vocabulary, grammar, and language functions

Unit 13 dealt with techniques for teaching pronunciation to students

This unity was useful to refresh my basics on lesson planning

As a young teacher I was really interested in the subsection of discipline in the classroom

This unit was very informative because it gave me an understanding of all the different teaching methods and strategies used to help students speak/learn English

This unit was about conditionals and reported speech

This unit is about the various past tenses and similar to unit 4, present tenses, but relates to things that happened in the past

Unit 8 is about the future tenses of verbs within the English language
