This unit was about conditionals and reported speech. Before going through this lesson, I knew what conditionals were, but I had never learned the differences between types. Also, I had never learned about reported speech before. Grammar wasn't very important to my English teachers in school. Going through this course has made me realize that I wish I would have been taught some of this stuff. However, learning it now with the mindset that I will be teach this material has helped me come up with some ideas on how to teach it. It's just like with the verb tenses. As a native English speaker, I know what is correct when speaking, but I don't know how to explain it. I really like the diagram in the unit to explain reported speech. I think that will help me teach my students to understand.
