I have learned what makes a good teacher and a good learner. The teacher is the one to Foster an environment to make a good learner. This unit taught me about the different roles a teacher will take on depending on the Type of lesson and class activity. This unit showed me some differences between young learners and adult learners. Adults are more likely to choose to learn a new language and may have more motivation due to this. This unit also taught me about the different language levels of students. I think the most important thing I took away from this unit is that a good teacher is likely to have good students. It really is up to the teacher to establish a good rapport and encourage the students' learning.

I feel like I have to work on my personality in the first place, if I want to be a good english teacher. I realized that it is almost all about the way you present the subject to the learner. I've always been an inconsistent learner, and I always blamed it all on my teachers, but now I'm changing my mind, and I can see, through teaching to my young students, that if I can make them interact and involve all of them equally, then they will be more interested in the lesson. So I really think it should be a 50/50 job to succeed in the learning process.

Understanding student's motivations for learning English can allow for teachers to become better instructors. There is a wide range of learning techniques, and it help me took at my own learning experiences in the past and what and did not work. Critical is the motivation to language learning. In my brief experience have seen most of these motivations. Is there different learning styles of adults based on age? less then 40 and plus 40? This unit teaches what makes a "good"" teacher and a ""good"" learner. It describes different and essential qualities that are required of a ""good"" teacher and a ""good"" learner. This unit also teaches the major differences between adult and young learners. There are six levels of language ability that is talked about in this unit.

I now know the qualities involved in being an effective teacher. As a high school teacher of twelve years, from my personal experience, I found the lesson to be accurate in the qualities and roles of a teacher and what makes a good learner. In the task portion, because of my experience, I answered the questions from my own background knowledge Before going back to review the lesson. Most of the answers were the same but used different vocabulary. Having worked with very young learners in day care centers during my youth and college years and then working with high school students and adults teaching and training in various capacities, I thought that this section was probably the most important for people who have never taught before. What did I learn that was new? The ability levels provided in this lesson were helpful in introducing me to the variety of English language competency the learners would have. While I am somewhat aware of this already, most of my work with ESL students currently is on a volunteer tutor basis, where we help the students with their homework and thus the focus is helping them complete an assignment versus move from one level to the next as would be the case in their general education classroom. The levels are a good guideline in trying to reach a variety of learners.

This lesson was very helpful in many aspects, first I learned about the different tasks the teacher should master, some of them are combined and others are not. This Unit helped me get a better overview on the different roles of the teacher. Also, the effect it can have on learners, in general. This is a tedious unit took too long for me to get through. Most specifically from this unit, I learned what a gerund is and the different types of adverbs. Grammar comes easily to me, but remembering the proper terms for all the parts of speech is difficult, and learning how to teach them will be even more difficult. It is challenging just to remember the technical formation of English sentences, so explaining it to English learners will be the most difficult part of the job.

A. Brief overview of the unit: This unit is primarily concerned with recognizing and classifying parts of speech. The author gives example to let readers understand all parts of speeches and how to use them. Parts of speeches include: Nouns, adjectives, Articles, verbs, Adverbs,Gerunds, pronouns, Prepositions/ Conjunctions. B. Some thoughts after learning this unit: I actually have some experience in teaching grammar, so this unit is not too difficult for me to learn. However, through this unit I've got a chance to see English grammar in a general way. Maybe I can use what I've learned in my teaching. It will make my students have a fresh look at English grammar.

it has been so long that I truly have found parts of speech hard to fully understand all the different rules. being a native English speaker has not really helped with fully. More time on the subject will help with mastering parts of speech hopefully Before I start teaching students . Unit 2 was a good review of part of speech. It included nouns , adjectives, articles, verbs, and adverbs. I learned the difference between countable noun and uncountable noun. Over all, it was a good grammar review for me. I've learned that it is easier to learn English grammar rule by categorizing each item. Although we often are unaware of what we are actually using or why we are using it, English sentence is composed of the words according to the grammatical rule. If we know the English grammar rule, we can produce English sentences that we want to express so I think it is important to learn English grammar.

This unit focuses on grammar, and explains the types of nouns, adjectives, definite an indefinite articles, irregular and regular verbs, adverbs, and pronouns which we use as day to day English users. This unit also breaks down the parts of a sentence and highlights the many reasons why we use language the way we do. I feel that by getting to know, and brushing up on the intricacies of sentence structures and why we use words the way that we do will help me teach others the same in the future.

This unit helped me to understand how it's better to explain English grammar to students by using easy words.There were also some usefull examples of games that could help kids to learn English grammar in a funny and easy way.I think the information will help to avoid some common mistakes in teaching in the future. Will return to answer later. I have learned all the parts of a sentence, noun, verb, pronoun, adverb, adjective, gerund, all the parts of speech in the English language well enough to be comfortable with them, to know them well enough to teach them, and to know them well enough that I get respect from my students.
