I believe I mistakenly assumed that adults would approach language learning more eagerly than children. I was surprised at how much I learnt ,I found it difficult to find answers to questions 15-20 so I used my own judgment. I learned a lot from this unit. I learned from this course that there are many kinds of roles a teacher can have. If a teacher can master all of these, the students are more likely to be motivated and actively interested in learning the language. This unit also went over the levels of mastery a student could be placed in. They are as follows: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper intermediate, and Advanced. Both young and adult learners can be placed in several different categories. It is important that the teacher creates lesson plans that are appropriate to each level of understanding. The lesson plans must also reflect the age of the students that are being taught. young learners and adult learners both learn differently, and are more open to different activities. There are many different roles and factors a teacher must consider when conducting a classroom.

I felt that Unit 1 was a wonderful and effective transition into the rest of the course and what is to follow. The content was clear, easy to read, and easy to follow. The layout of the material allows the learner to comprehend the initial material and continue to build off of it. I felt that starting with the role of the teacher helps tremendously with comprehending the motivation of English Language Learners and the aspects that affect how they learn the English language and roadblocks that the students may come across. I feel that the most effective thing I learned during unit 1 was the language levels of English language learners and what English language learners are able to do at each level of language acquisition (beginner, elementary, low.pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate, and advanced).

This unit was a very useful review for me of the various parts of a section. This unit covered nouns, prepositions, verbs, conjunctions, and most of the basic elements of grammar which compose a sentence. I'm not sure quite what else to write here, but it was a useful review that I'm sure I will refer to again in the future.

This unit dove into parts of speech. These are all areas native English speakers are well acquainted with, however it is not something that much thought is put into once you have acquired the skills to put together a sentence. This unit was a good refresher course for me regarding parts of speech, and the various differences between countable/uncountable nouns, adjectives/adverbs, prepositions, verbs, pronouns, infinitives, comparative/superlative adjectives, articles, and conjunctions. It is something that I know I will definitely have to put to heart to be able to teach to students learning English. I know that this unit is basic, but something all beginning students will have trouble with.

Unit two contains a vast amount of information. This chapter deals with the various parts of speech in the English language. All of the areas have their own value and difficulty level. The nouns were of course the easiest to understand. Sections such as transitive verbs were more difficult concepts for me to grasp. That being said, the unit was very helpful.

Parts of speech, it was challenging but I was able to grasp the objectives of the lesson. I feel that this unit should have been split into two other units. The content of Unit 2, clearly explains the structure one should use to for correct sentences. I've been a professional writer (in English) for 40 years and still find it sometimes difficult to distinguish parts of speech! In particularly, prepositions and some forms of adverbs give me trouble -- all those little words! -- so it has been interesting to refresh my grammatical knowledge, and reminds me how tricky English can be.
