It was interesting to learn about the different types of evaluation and testing. It was my first time to learn about the Cambridge examinations. I was also glad to learn that some external exams which previously only contained reading and listening sections are making changes to evaluate writing and speaking as well. Although this unit provided a nice explanation of various external exams from around the world, I would have liked to read more about how to create placement tests to judge students language levels. I also would have found it helpful to learn more about non-test based evaluation and ways to help students use the feedback given to them to increase their motivation and move forward in their language learning.
