This unit discussed the materials needed to teach an ESL class efficiently. There are a lot of factor that come into play when deciding what materials should be used. Be very careful in choosing which course book you use for the class. Authentic material will prove to be very valuable In this unit I learnt about coursebooks and lesson materials. I learnt about the differences in authentic materials and created materials. Authentic materials are just about anything we would hear and read as a native speaker. Created materials are usually designed by a teacher to replaced or supplement materials from a coursebook. This unit focused on coursebooks and lesson materials. I learned that course book is not the teaching "bible"" and teacher should therefore create his own materials to supplement the book or replace not suitable sections.
