This unit lesson stressed highly on the importance of students using the English language already known and recently learned in various activities and stages of learning. Many methodologies were introduced as to how to go about teaching students the English language. The most prevalent method was (ESA) or Engage, Study, and Activate. This method is centered highly around involving students to be active in the lessons through various means of communication. In the Engage stage it focuses highly on student talk time and engaging in the activities as individuals, teams or the class as a whole through games and discussions. Teachers are to monitor but not interrupt and allow students to speak freely. Corrections are to be made in a positive and encouraging manner in the Study phase. It should reflect that the students have a clearer or better understanding of their mistakes as well as the newly learnt information the Activate stage. It is more important for students to correct themselves or students correct each other than to have the teacher correct them. Self correction provides students with the opportunity to reflect upon what has been said in error and where or what the error is so that the student can think of the mistake and try to work it out on their own. Students are less likely to remember corrections made by teachers and more likely to repeat the mistakes if they do not have to think for themselves.
