This unit 2 \"Teaching and Leaning\" emphasizes the aspects of learning approach, classroom environment and skills to reach. It also shows the difference and relation between learning a native language L1 and a second language L2. One of a major relation between them to take into consideration in order to learn L2 is the total immersion basis. As a language leaner, I couldn't be more agree. Indeed, a full immersion class is more effective as the goal is to think directly in the language taught. Moreover, context and uses are crucial while teaching a language. In order to teach to young learners, the teacher talk time should be low and he must emphasize the practice sessions via interactive activities, games and/or songs (regarding the group age group 1 or 2). While introducing a new lesson, a grammar point or new words (input session or \"Study\" part), he should keep that part short, concise and clear as the students are not producing and as a consequence there is high possibility that they would lose interest and attention. Even in this part, the teacher should interact with the students (not only the teacher should speak). The warm-up (or \"Engage\") session is crucial because the aim of this part is to get the students think and speak in English, frequently after a long day at regular school where they speak and think in their native language. So a concise and interactive warm-up session is a beneficial transition.
