A lesson plan works as an aid, a work document, and a record of past lessons. The basic principles for lesson planning are as follows: 1.keep it simple, 2.trying not to make the lesson scripted, 3.structuring the lesson and maintaining the structure, 4.checking for balance of skills, 5.writing the expected time for each phase of the lesson, 6.keeping it flexible and open to adjustment if necessary. The teacher need to make sure they are organized by: 1.making sure they have the lesson plan with them, 2.running through the lesson plan to make they have all the necessary materials and aids, 3.checking if the equipment needed works, 4.laying out the materials and aids so you can easily find them, 5.arranging the seating as required, 6.making sure that the board is clean, 7.having a quick chat with some of the students as they enter the class.
