It is incredibly important as a teacher to be aware of other tests that the students may be studying for to further their education. If we are not aware of what external tests there are, then we cannot adequately prepare the students for these tests. It was helpful to learn different ways of testing to solidify the student's understanding to better prepare them for both real life and further examinations they may have to undertake. It will be helpful to draw from this chapter when getting to know the student's interests and needs in terms of learning English.
