There are many things to consider when managing a class. Physical factors such as class arrangement, size, and teacher positioning are equally important with interpersonal factors such as rapport, how you organize the students for work, their personalities, and how the teacher uses his or her communication to communicate with the students. For my purposes, my class will consist of elementary-aged students. I particularly found the group organization section helpful. In my experience teaching physics, I've loved horseshoe arrangement for many reasons. Intimacy, from experience, has played a huge role in helping students learn. Whenever I tutored a small group and spurred discussion when in a horseshoe format, student-feedback surveys showed that the \"close and safe\" environment was what they liked most. After this lesson I may also look more into pair work after learning the pros and cons. Overall this lesson was helpful in providing the Do's and Don'ts of your role as a teacher, how to organize your class, and how to maintain classroom equilibrium through remaining positive and dealing discipline in an appropriate way.
