This unit refers to 5 types of tests: 1.placement/level tests It concludes all four skills often tested and it goes easy to hard. 2.diagnostic test It gives information about the students' current strengths and weaknesses It can tell us about their attitude Teachers to focus planning on gaps in students' knowledge 3.progress test often required by the school or language center Indicating areas the students are having problems with and suggests we should go over them again 4.practice test It is used for revision purpose, for internal and external exams It should be as near as possible to the style and content of the real exam 5.External proficiency tests
