Unit 13 discussed coursebooks and materials used in class. First off as a student I am noticing better and better material is being produced and provided to enhance student learning over the years. Specifically the course material in my field 'global studies'. The instructors I had have selected some of the most current and fascinating texts. However, as a returning student in the sciences I feel that there is so much more that could be done to improve the material and resources available to students in this field. Especially because the work can be arduous. In this unit it is wonderful that provided examples of study and activate material. It could be very useful for an educator that is having to come up with ideas at the last minute, has a brain fart or is just searching out new and awesome ideas to engage students. The ESA plan on this one (quiz) stumped me on the study phase. I was not quite sure which step should come first and hoping that I selected the correct one. I am working off the key words like 'develop fluency', which to me would indicate they have already been working on the vocabulary, common word usages, etc.
