This unit covered the three main way one can evaluate students: tutorials, evaluations by the students and tests. The unit covered in great detail the four main types of tests one could find in a school. The first one is a placement test. This test helps teachers and schools know at what level to start a student. The second main type of test is a progressive's test which should be given periodically to see how much information students retain and remember. The third type of test is a diagnostic test; this one is similar to a progress test but more extensive and usually at the beginning of a course. The fourth and final type is a practice test which is a test that will mimic there students' external examinations. The unit then describes the main general examinations that students usually would have to take in order to study or work in an English speaking country, such as the Uk or America.
