Unit 6 covers the forms and usages of the 4 past tenses: past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. This unit also covers possible activate activities that you can use to practice this material, as well as the common mistakes that students will make during the Study and Activate phases of the lesson. I found the forms of the past tenses very easy to understand since the structures are very similar to the present tenses. For example, when discerning between present perfect and past perfect, you simply need to change the tense of the auxiliary verb \"have\" to \"had\". However, I still find the usages to be difficult to put into words that a low-level student can easily understand. I think the simplest method for teaching these concepts to students will be learning a single, overarching rule. For example, the difference in usage for past simple and past continuous is that one occurred in the past for a definite number of times, \"the cat purred when I petted her\" (past simple), versus past continuous which occurred in the past for an indefinite number of times, \"the cat was purring when I petted her.\
