Teaching the language to a student is a combination of methodologies that create a more fluent usage and control over the language that they are learning. The purpose of the teacher is to initially guide and mentor the student towards the right direction and aid in the student's ability to learn faster than they would on their own. Being able to recognize your errors and correcting them yourself is the key factor in learning as it allows longer retention as opposed to just following the instructor's prompt. The instructor should be able to step back and balance when they should and should not intervene in order for the class to learn as a whole from their mistakes.
