When selecting a course book to use there are a number of factors to consider, such as level, price, availability and relevance. You should be careful to adapt course book materials as the need arises. Keeping solely to the course book materials can make teachers lazy and could also impact the students negatively as the material tend to be more generalised and does not focus on specific cultural differences or individual needs. Coarse book materials can be supplemented with created materials or authentic materials such as movie clips, newspaper articles or advertisements as they can give more real time application for the students and are usually more interesting.
