From this unit i learnt all about receptive skills, and the reasons why we would read and why we listen. Including how we do this, using predictive skills, skimming or scanning. I found this unit interesting because as a native speaker i generally do this without thinking about it but its nice to break it down and actually give reasoning as to why we do this. Understanding these processes will definitely help when teaching students the language because it gives us an understanding of their thought processes. I found it important to learn about the problems with reading and listening so we can stop these problems from arising when teaching students in the classroom.
