This unit focused on the standard materials a teacher can expect in their classrooms, their usage, peak effectiveness, and misuse. From classic tools such as a board (white or chalk), copier, worksheets, visual aids, overhead projectors and tape recorders, to newer technologies such as smartboards and video equipment (which is now often a phone), the best practices concerning the usage of these materials was discussed. The vast amount of online resources that are now available to the modern teacher including dictionaries, podcasts, instructional youtube videos, music, and film clips were also dealt with and an excellent list of online resources was included as well.
