What I learned the most from this unit was how to properly evaluate students. How evaluation is a method for a teach to plan and not one for the students to compare themselves. Comparison can be positively and negatively viewed. It can be seen as competition and drive the students. Negatively it can stop their drives to succeed as well. Using the practice, placement, and diagnostic tests to help them prepare for external tests and motivate them to always succeed. These tests can also be a method of evaluating the students interests as well as their language capabilities. Learning their interests and converting that into easier lessons will also be very advantageous.
