Unit 6 deals with the various past tenses. Of course, as a native speaker, I have no difficulty forming grammatical sentences, but I'd never given any thought to the function of the different past tenses in relation to one another. For example, in the case of an event occurring in the past and where the ending of the event is implied (e.g. up until the present, to a set time in the past, or unspecified), the relationship between tenses becomes confusing without specific examples to reference. As a currently-employed high school ESL teacher, I found advice regarding the past perfect continuous especially useful, as this is a form students struggle with frequently.
