This unit covers student evaluation and testing looking deeper into the various types of examination and their purpose for example placement testing to determine students a students level in order to group them accordingly. I found this unit particularly insightful, as while I have helped many students prepare for external vocal exams and conducted many practice/mock exams the other exam types were all new to me. While I plan to run language classes based around musical education I am sure that for the older children?s group classes placement testing would be both necessary and helpful to gain an understanding of the students basic understanding and abilities.
