From my teaching experience, present simple tense and present continuous tense is relatively easy for Chinese students to understand. The most difficult one is the present perfect tense. First, I think it is because there's no perfect tense in Chinese. Also, it's very complicated for them to remember the rules of the usage of the tense. Apart from techniques such as using games, role-play, etc.,another effective and efficient method is to create a situation in which the certain tense can be employed. Moreover, teachers should have a wide and deep knowledge of the tenses that will be taught. If the teacher is confused, there is no doubt that students won't learn well.
