I enjoyed learning about the different theories and techniques of teaching. It was interesting to compare what is common in Japan, where I'm teaching - Grammar-Translation and Audio-Lingualism - versus other models which probably would be more effective, in all honesty. I look forward to incorporating strategies such as elicitation and engagement more into my lessons (which are very Grammar-Translation based). Given I'm in a very strict structure, I will try to use components from ESA as much as I can within the existing system. I especially look forward to creating more exciting, spontaneous-language-production-based activities that Activate English usage more often.
