A clause is a group of words containing a subject and a verb. The three categories of clauses are - Independent clause which is a complete sentence containing the main subject and the verb of a sentence. Dependent clause is not a complete sentence and it must be connected to an independent clause. Relative clause is a dependent clause that modifies a noun, it describes, identifies, gives further info about a noun. It can also be referred to as an adjective clause. Last but not least, Phrasal Verbs. It has three basic types - Intransitive, Transitive separable and Transitive inseparable.
