Unit 1... This unit touched on: Good qualities for teachers to have, like patience, enthusiasm, a good rapport with students (a good talker and listener both). Different reasons students may be in the class (learning for a job, preparing to visit an english speaking country, just interested in learning). Different ages of students from pre-school to adult, different levels of english proficiency, motivations, attention spans, etc. Different roles a teacher will need to assume while teaching from managing to being a role model, or a participant. What i take from the first unit is that a good teacher will be involved with his/her students in many different roles and will also need to adapt to many different types of students and their different needs, capabilities, personalities too. a good start to the program :)
