This unit talks about the productive skills: speaking and writing. Speaking can be hard for some students because it will require both confidence and knowledge. There will be less time to prepare or think of the words. Some may get intimidated when asked to recite or talk. Speaking requires creativity and enough vocabulary to be fluent. The teacher's responsibility is to feed the students the right vocabulary and motivate them to use it in speaking. The teacher will need to guide the students when needed. Writing, on the hand, is more formal and more rigid in accuracy. Students will need to know the correct sentence structures, punctuation and other rules in writing. Writing is not as famous as speaking because teachers tend to pay more attention to it. But writing is as important as speaking and should also be given enough attention.
