The first unit is an introduction of the course. It gives an overview of the content of the six units included in the course, as well as instructions on how the course works. I learned that, upon completion of the course, I will be able to create a teaching syllabus and have a better understanding of how to find and create materials that may be used in the classroom. These are only a couple of examples of course objectives that are given in this unit. This unit also included a list of general terminology and acronyms that are used in the industry as well as throughout the course. I remember learning these acronyms in the TEFL certification course. This unit also explains and defines what a young learner is. There is a brief section that gives some brief information on things we may be able to expect as we enter the work force as a TEFL instructor.
