In this lesson I learned about past tenses. The past simple tense can be formed by adding 'ed' or 'd' to a base form verb, but there are also many irregular past verb forms. It is used for actions with a past time, when the time is enquired about, or even as follow-up questions to a present perfect question. The past continuous uses 'ing' and has uses such as one action interrupting another or to indicate gradual development. Past perfect uses 'had' and the past participle, and can be used to say that one past action finished before another past action. Finally, the past perfect continuous tense indicates that an action had been continuing until a specific past moment.
