Unit 1 gave an overview on the characteristics that make good teachers and the roles and responsibilities they have in teaching. It also looked at what qualities make a good learner and how good teachers are able to encourage these qualities by adapting to situations and effectively engaging with students. I have never been in a teaching position before and so reading about all the different roles that a teacher should undertake was very eye opening for me. It made me reflect back on the good teachers I have had and how their ability to change roles helped to facilitate my learning. I believe if I want to be a good teacher it is an important quality for me to possess.
