This unit examines the proper ways to teach vocabulary, grammar, and function. Vocabulary to be taught is selected on the basis of appropriacy to students and task, as well as frequency of usage and coverage. Meaning, use, belonging, interaction, spelling, and pronunciation must be taught when discussing vocabulary. When teaching grammar we must take into consideration meaning, when is it used, forms and patterns, and spoken and written forms of the words in the language.
