From unit six I learned about the four different past tenses and how they are similar to the present tenses. There is past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. The biggest thing I learned from this unit was the difference in usage between past continuous and past perfect continuous. An action that began and ended in the past would be past perfect continuous. For example the sentence I had been working there for eight months before I quit last week shows the usage of past perfect continuous, while past continuous is an action that began in the past and continues up until the present time. An example of this would be sentence she was crying.
