In this unit, a number of topics related to troubleshooting in the classroom were explored. The important aspects of a first lesson were discussed, emphasizing that learning language skills aren't the main goal of a first class, and it's important to figure out who your students are and build rapport. Some strategies to approach difficult situations were also discussed, looking at reluctant student and large groups, for example. I learned that there are many strategies you can take as a teacher to accomplish your goals as a teacher, despite challenging situations, and learned about the importance of building a strong relationship with your students as early as possible.
