This unit was on Teachers and Learners, in particular the characteristics that determine and promote teachers and students. It covered the role of the teacher and the different methods of which a teacher can teach and influence students based upon what is required of them. This chapter also described the different forms of learners from: What determines a good learner to reasons why someone would take an English course. It also discussed the role of age and culture and how they play on the motivation of the learner. It also set out guidelines that determine the language level of students based on specific criteria (both language levels and the Common European Framework).
