In this unit I learned how to teach receptive skills, how important it is to the learning of the language. I learned that in order for my receptive skills lesson to be succsessful , I need to carefuly choose and vary the material in order to cater to the interests of all my students, as well, to make sure that the material that I am presenting is apropiate to their English level. When pre-teaching vocabulary, I need to be careful not to over do it. There needs to be a balance in how much I teach them and how much I let my students discover new language on their own. I should mostly teach the necessary words that are essential to the understanding of the text or dialogue.
