Students care about learning pronunciation as much as they do any other aspect when learning English as a second language yet it is the most neglected part of the curriculum. This is likely to due teachers for whom English is a second language are intimidated by the prospect of teaching the difficult concepts and even native English speakers find the task complicated and overwhelming. This was a difficult chapter that as a teacher I would find it easier to pass over than attempt to teach. But because I want my future students to be confident with their new language I will master this subject and ensure that my students are getting the best pronunciation lessons as possible.
