While I feel my personal grammar is quite strong, in reading this section, I realized that I had little idea as to how to pass on my knowledge of English grammar to a foreign leaner. I also realized that I had not looked as sentence diagramming since about 8th grade. The difficulty presented by word order for foreign students I found particularly interesting, This formal presentation of parts of speech and grammar rules I am sure I will find useful in teaching. It might be a hard slog for both teacher and student, and not so much fun as absorbing language through reading, talking, listening, etc., but it must be gotten trough early on. I thoroughly enjoyed this unit.
