ESA style teaching is the focus of this course and provides a good framework for new EFL teachers to work in. All lessons should begin with an a Engage activity that \"primes\" students for the rest of the lesson. All lessons should end with an Activate activity that allows for free and open communication by students. The core of the lesson can vary based on needs of the students, style of the teacher, and point in the unit. Correction is important, but teacher-student correction should only be used as a last resort after the student and class have had time to think about possible corrections. Many ideas for activities were provided.
