It was a shock to see how terrible the first lesson was. It made me cringe and feel very bad for the students. It was great to see an example of what NOT to do, though. In lesson 2, it was great to see how excited and engaged the teacher and the students were. The students were much more confident. I know that I need more work on identifying the different ESA styles, and seeing it in action was helpful. I know that I will refer back to the second lesson video in the future for reinforcement. It was also useful to see how the simple non-verbal functions of the teacher made all the difference to the students ability and ability to learn.
