In this lesson I was able to learn how important it is to teach a lesson with a good attitude, know every student individually, and be prepared. Something as simple as a smile can influence students? attitude in a class. Smiles are a welcoming greeting that helps induce participation and create a good environment in the classroom. Also, showing interest and love for our job and every student, not forgetting be nice and respectful to students, will produce an effective lesson by knowing the students' names, looking for different ways to help them understand the lesson point, and monitoring their work to make them feel confident in learning the language. Additionally, when teachers are well prepared with everything they need for the lesson, including the knowledge towards the point they will teach and any difficulty the students might have about the point, the class will flow smoothly and the students will be able to understand and produce the point learnt in the class. Watching both videos, the good and the bad ways of teaching a lesson, was very helpful because I could see how easily students can get confused and intimidated in class if the teacher is not well prepared and happy when teaching a lesson, whereas in the well prepared and engaging lesson, the students were happy and interested in learning and participating during the whole period of the lesson. These videos also helped me clarify and view the use of an ESA lesson in action. I am very grateful that you use these two videos with different views of the same lesson, same teacher, and same students.
