This unit covers authentic and non-authentic materials when teaching English to young learners. It also highlights the important benefits of preparing lesson plans and things to consider before creating them. Course books are mentioned in this unit to show the ups and downs of using them to teach young learners. The most valuable part of this unit for me was the class management part. I have the tendency to be to nice. I think being too nice to young learners from the beginning can come off as weak and can potentially make me lose control of the class. I prefer not to scream at children as they are very impressionable and can scar them.
