Comparing the two videos, one can see obvious differences in the manner the teacher has towards his class and how the class receives him. His attitude in the first video reflected an undesirable need to be teaching there. He was very bad at explaining the lesson point which visibly left the students confused and agitated, as well as unmotivated. He was not able to connect with the students because he did not first learn their names nor care to share his own. There were also no visuals in the first lesson, where the second video did have visuals and they were very useful. The teacher made a huge mistake in the first lesson when he shrugged off the questions a couple students had, saying he would address them later. This is an error on the part of the teacher because his students wanted clarification on the subject material, and when he did not address the issue right in the moment it communicates that he does not care enough to do so for them. The second video provided great examples of the teacher positively encouraging his students, even if their answers were a little off. There also was the pronunciation drill and the teacher went around the classroom, mostly at random, selecting students to participate. It was clear that the students were willing and wanted to participate in the second video. The teacher appropriately monitors the students during the study phase and does not simply sit down, showing a careless attitude, like he did in the first video. The student talk time was much greater in the second video compared to the first, where the teacher mostly speaks and gives students worksheets to do, but they do them alone, versus the second video, during which students complete worksheets in pairs.
