In conclusion, this unit talks about some common problems teachers may come across in their teaching career. They include first lesson, warmers, different levels, large classes, use of the native language and reluctant students and so on. First lesson is vital for a teacher to establish rapport with students. Instead of teaching language in the first lesson, an experienced teacher tend to use some activities to know more about the students' interests, needs and language levels. At the beginning of the class, the teacher should use some activities to make students engaged and involved in English language. Sometimes, students of different levels are in the same class. The teacher should know how to make the class balanced. Pairing stronger students and weaker students is definitely a good choice. Large classes are commonly a big challenge to teachers. They can make full use of pair and group work to maximize involvement of every student. The use of native language is also a big problem for teachers. However, students using native language are not malicious and they just want to express something that they can't express in English. So teachers can make their explanations clear to all members. For reluctant students, teachers should encourage them and help them build confidence in their minds. Listening difficulties are always happen in classes. Teachers should recognize the difficulty from students' listening ability not from poor equipments. Teachers should work with students to improve their listening abilities together. Through this unit, I learnt that I need to find solutions when I come across various problems in classes and these problems also help me to improve my teaching skills at the same time.
