In this unit we were shown video of two different lessons given to the same class by the same teacher. In the first lesson video the demonstration was difficult to watch because the teacher was doing all the talking and none of it was really being understood by the class. It was clear that the students were not happy about learning. It was easy to see all the things that we should avoid in the classroom and how the attitude of the teacher plays a big role in how the students learn. In the second video we got to see the same teacher and students learn the lesson with a different approach (ESA) and the results were very informative. It is nice to see the things we have been learning on paper worked out in a live demonstration. I saw the attitude of the teacher change the attitude of the class as well as the three phases worked in a wonderful flow of conversation, learning and practice in a fun and engaging way.
