In this lesson I learned about productive skills, speaking and writing, which are used to communicate. Communication is done for a number of reasons, including because the persons wants to say or hear something, so it's important for the teacher to elicit student desire to communicate when designing activities. Activities can be divided into fluency and accuracy activities, and both are important. There are many reasons why students may hesitate to talk in class, including insufficient confidence, no interest in a particular topic or for cultural reasons. The teacher should attempt to make a comfortable environment that encourages students to speak without fear of making mistakes. When teaching writing, it's important to consider grammatical forms that differ from spoken forms, handwriting issues, spelling difficulties or punctuation problems. Games can also be a fun way to teach a particular grammar point or revise key vocabulary.
