In unit 12, The two productive skills are, Speaking and writing. Drilling is more focused on accuracy. Information gap is more focused on fluency. Accuracy during the Study stage and fluency during the Activate stage are more concerned with accuracy and fluency during a typical ESA lesson. Some reasons for using games in the classroom are to motivate the students, to create opportunities for student interaction and to create a stimulating classroom environment. Discussing culturally sensitive issues would NOT usually encourage student interaction while, Pair work, Group work and Giving students time to think and plan before commencing an activity would usually encourage student interaction. Using picture prompts students create a short fairy story would be the final part of the STUDY phase of the lesson. Allow students to create their own fairy story in groups, present to the class and give feedback would be the ACTIVATE phase of the lesson.
