Lesson planning, I believe, is one of the most difficult parts of teaching. You can have control over the topic, activities, and even location, but you cannot have control over the willingness or levels of your students. Lesson planning helps with coming up with a not only a plan, but also several back up plans if something goes awry.I have learnt that there are 3 phases that you need to plan for in lesson planning and to have back up activities incase there is extra time at the end of the lesson. I understand that there is learner objectives that need to be considered while planning and I can now properly recognise what I need to look for while planning a lesson.
