Unit nine was about lesson plans and planning the lessons in general. First of all there was raised a question- should we plan our lessons? In my opinion it is not just highly recommended to plan our lessons. It is actually necessary. If we plan our lesson we don't have to deal with situations such as not knowing what to do next with the student or running out of time even though we've got unfinished activity that we must finish. It is true that easier the level of the student is the easier lesson planning we need. But we still do need some. Especially if the teacher is inexperienced. We should not forget to be flexible and adapt the lesson to the student's needs. We should write down what we want to teach the students. Lesson plans help us to keep on target however we should be as I said flexible. In order to have our lesson successful, we should follow some basic principles such as keeping it simple, making sure the activities fit together, adapting to the skills of the students etc. Lesson plans will help us to stay organized to follow better our aims in the lesson.. It's important that your students are not afraid of us so sometimes a little chat before the lesson start may be very desirable. We should clean the board before the lesson starts and have prepared all equipment we need. (And working !!) Our lesson plan should include some personal aims, timing, interaction, number of students participating, problems that might occur, learner objectives, name of the teacher (my name) If we do have a sequence of lessons we should consider issues such as flexibility of our lesson plan, goals that we want to reach with the students, revision of the content we've already done. But I think most of all we should make sure that we are balanced in our lessons thus the students will gain from them as much as possible.
