This unit was also difficult just like the present tense unit. Here we were given the seven most common future tenses; The future simple, The future continuous, The future perfect, The future perfect continuous, Be going + Infinitive, The present simple and The present continuous. Again in this unit, we are given the form, usage and common mistakes. The future simple - To give future facts, promises and predictions. The future continuous - To say that something will be in progress at a particular moment in the future. The future perfect - To say something that will have been done, completed or achieved in the future. The future perfect continuous - To say how long something will have continued by a certain time. Be going + Infinitive - To give a prediction based on present evidence or plan something before speaking. !!!! The present simple - To suggest or use timetable The present continuous - For definite arrangements and decision and plans. Present continuous and Be going + Infinitive are often confused as their structure is similar especially when the present continuous form uses the verb 'to go'. The difference is that the 'be going to' structure is always followed by a verb.
